In 2022, MDH partnered with the Minnesota Department of Corrections (MN DOC), the Minnesota Recovery Community (MRC), and Emerge to implement the Creating an Ecosystem of Recovery upon Re-Entry: Expanding Peer Recovery Specialist & Housing Services across Minnesota project.
Building on this broader ecosystem of work being done to support re-entry, the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) Overdose Prevention Unit has contracted with RIA to support the development of a re-entry toolkit grounded in community-centered reentry practices and success stories through shared meaning-making practices.
The toolkit will highlight practice-based knowledge from leaders that have contributed to success stories, drawing directly from the lived experiences of justice-impacted leaders.
In collaboration with MDH, Research in Action will provide the following services:
Establish a cohort constituted of three to seven justice impacted leaders and partners
Facilitate five monthly cohort meetings, two hours each, with the cohort
Provide coaching and prepare cohort members to share their stories at the April learning collaborative event
Development of a Re-Entry Toolkit and recommendations based on learnings from facilitated meetings
Facilitate bi-weekly partner meetings
Facilitate one session at the April collaborative learning event
Stay tuned for more on this exciting project in coming months!
