Free Webinar: Amplifying Community Voice in Philanthropy and Research

Join us on Wednesday, August 6, from 11am to 12:30pm for a free and engaging webinar exploring how lived experience can shape more inclusive and impactful approaches to philanthropy and research.

Hosted by CoLab of the Constellation Fund in partnership with Research in Action (RIA), this session will feature the newly released Pass the Mic report — a first-of-its-kind, mixed-methods study co-designed with youth and families experiencing poverty in Minnesota.

Over the course of just 10 months, RIA convened a Community Action Council made up of 10 young adults and parents of young children experiencing poverty to co-develop a research approach, partnered with 19 community-based organizations to collect more than 500 responses to an online survey and conducted focus groups with impacted people. Thanks to their expertise navigating these systems, participants articulated clear steps to end the cycle of intergenerational poverty.

Do you want to learn how to amplify community voice in your work? Whether you're a funder, researcher, policymaker, or community advocate, this webinar will offer practical guidance to shift power and center equity.

With insight from community researchers, funders, and nonprofit leaders, this session will highlight key findings from the study, offer real-world examples, and provide actionable tools to guide more equitable grantmaking and program design.

What to Expect:

  • Key insights from the Pass the Mic study

  • A panel of community researchers and philanthropic leaders

  • Strategies to embed lived experience into decision-making

  • A downloadable Action Toolkit to support your work
