For Partners

How to Support Survey Outreach

Thank you for partnering with us on this important work.

As a survey partner, you are helping us reach Black women, girls, and femmes aged 14 and older across Minnesota to ensure their voices are heard. Together, we are building a tool to hold systems accountable and improve safety, support, and healing for Black women, girls, and femmes.

Your role as a survey partner

The survey is open August 4 – October 31. During that time partners are expected to:

  • Share the survey with your community and networks

  • Support participants in completing the survey (when appropriate)

  • Help us meet regional participation goals to ensure statewide representation

  • Join us at monthly partner convenings to share insights and strategies

Sharing the survey and supporting participants

  • Here’s a simple way to frame it:

“This survey is for Black women, girls, and femmes aged 14 and older. It asks about your experiences with different systems—like housing, health care, or the police—and how those systems make you feel about getting help or staying safe. What you share will help us build a tool to make those systems better.”

  • Please note: All questions on the survey are optional unless indicated otherwise.

The survey asks about Black women, girls and femmes’:

    • Confidence in institutions to support them in their time of need and to treat them with respect

    • Willingness to access resources from institutions and professionals

    • Stress levels while accessing resources and seeking support

Additionally, participants will be asked to answer questions about demographics such as gender, ethnicity, and income.

See this link [link to be added for reference] to view the question sections and examples.

  • The survey is available in English and Somali.

  • You’ll receive a PDF containing a set of unique, one-time-use QR codes. These can be printed and handed out to participants. Each QR code allows one survey completion—once it’s used, it cannot be reused.

  • If a code doesn’t work (because it was already used), let us know and we’ll provide more.

  • Check out the Common Questions section on the “For Participants” page so we’re all sharing the same answers to FAQs!

    • Find a quiet and private space to ensure confidentiality

    • Remind them that participation is voluntary and anonymous

    • Let them know they can pause at any time and skip any question

    • Be available if they need emotional support or technical help

    • If issues come up, contact an RIA team member for assistance

  • Partners who meet their region’s minimum recruitment goal will be entered to win a $500 prize. Goals vary by location:

    • 20 participants in rural areas (Northwest, Northeast, Southwest)

    • 40 participants in Central and Southeast Minnesota

    • 60 participants in the Metro area

    • 60 participants for statewide organizations

We’ll track submissions using the unique QR codes/links assigned to your organization.
